Day 1 - Group Dinner

We ended the night with a superb meal at Founding Farmers (clever name huh?). Farmers is a locally sourced, organic, farm-fresh inspired restaurant located just blocks from the White House.

Enjoying some quality food and conversation. A great opportunity to get to know each other better.

Mohammed ensured there were no left-overs.

  1. The first day in DC was great! Visiting Arlington National Cemetery was the highlight of the day for me. Dinner at the Founding Farmers was AMAZING! As you can see, Mohammed finished his dinner...and mine!!

    3. Yeah my meal looked so huge but it was not so crazy to eat them all i think. In fact, Mohamed ate more than me! Yohei

  3. The resturant was really unique. I was doing it big by eating my food and eating my friends food after they are done with it. The design of the restaurant was unique. I enjoyed the food and Iam happy for making everybody happy.

    2. The way you were eating the food I am surprised you actually had a chance to taste it. It's alright though because it made it a more interesting night.

  4. I have never seen anyone be able to eat that much in one setting. Just back away from the dessert.

  5. That first day was amazing!! Founding Farmers was delicious! I don't think I've ever eating that much food in my life. It was so nice to go lay down in bed after that exhausting day!

  6. My favorite thing about Founding Farmers was how unique and fresh each dish was! I was so excited to be able to try things that I hadn't gotten a chance of trying before, such as the bleu cheese stuffed bacon-wrapped dates. Now that's a mouthful. They were my favorite of the night, though their cheesecake was a very close second. I also made the decision (mistake?) of ordering The Clementine, which sounds like a pretty innocent drink, right? Wrong! My mouth needed recovery time after that chili-infused tequila...

    1. I loved being able to try all different things than I would usually eat! Including a very interesting beer which sounds like it as a better drink than the spicy tequila! It was a great first day, and the dinner was a perfect way to end it!

  7. We definitely hit the ground running when we landed in DC. Starting our adventure with a trip to Arlington Cemetery and being able to see JFK's grave, the eternal flame, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the changing of the guards and finishing with a trip to the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial was beyond words. Capping the day off with a trip to Founding Farmer's restaurant was a perfect end to an amazing day!

  8. Susan couldn't have put it better when we landed in DC. Arlington Cemetery was more than just any cemetery. It was huge. Everywhere you looked there was another and another and another headstone. We were able to see the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which was very ceremonial. Next on the agenda was the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial. I personally did not care for the design. It lacked shade and made it hard to figure out exactly what it was. The one good thing it did have was small pools of water underneath the benches, which at this point was thankful to be able to sit down.

  9. I went to the most secure place in America, and I couldn't believe the terror incident happened there. Pentagon made me feel sad because it doesn't look like before. The DC metro is not as busy as I expected.

  10. Founding Farmers was so delicious, I loved stepping outside of my comfort zone with food and trying different things. Knowing everything was local food made it even better! I definately needed a big meal after our first day, I never knew I could walk as much as we did that day!
